In South Australia, the victim of a serial rapist who claimed to be a taxi driver says the perpetrator may as well have killed her because the attack has destroyed her life.

From Boxing Day in 2003 to mid-November the following year, Andrew Timothy Agius, raped three women.

Agius, 36, tricked each of his victims into getting into his car by telling two he was a taxi driver.

He then drove them to isolated locations, locked them in the vehicle and repeatedly raped them.

During sentencing submissions in the District Court, the statement of one victim was read out.

In the statement, the woman says the brutal act has driven her to hatred, coldness and mistrust and she believes Hell is on Earth.

Agius's lawyer said it was an abhorrent act and out of character for the hard working father.

He will be sentenced at a later date.
