A second person is in court today in connection with a hammer attack on a Gisborne taxi-driver yesterday.
 
Police say a 35-year-old woman will appear in Gisborne District Court. 
 
Nineteen-year-old Pearl Kawenga is already in custody over the attack, in which a 70-year-old driver was allegedly hit with a hammer and robbed. 
 
Kawenga is facing charges of aggravated robbery, after a companion hit the driver on the head and stole a-hundred dollars.
 
The driver has been released from hospital .
