Man to face court over cabbie robbery
A man will face court on Sunday on charges relating to the robbery of a taxi driver in Sydney's inner west.
The 51-year-old taxi driver was attacked and robbed about 2am (AEST) after he dropped off a passenger in Friend Avenue, Five Dock.
The driver alerted the police and, after a search of the area, they arrested four men on Friend Avenue.
The four - aged 17, 18, 22 and 27 - were taken to Burwood Police Station for questioning by detectives.
The 27-year-old Matraville man was subsequently charged with kidnapping with intent occasioning actual bodily harm, robbery in company and possession of an offensive implement.
He was refused bail and will appear at Parramatta Bail Court on Sunday.
The other three were released pending further investigation.
